Description

The Hario V60 NEO 02 Black Funnel is an upgraded version of the V60 funnels, designed for brewing drip coffee from one to four cups. It comes in black, has the model number VDN-02-B, and is made in Japan from PCT resin (also known as Tritan), with a separate silicone base.

The NEO filter's design features 72 finely shaped spiral ribs that gradually converge into 9 ribs near the extraction port. This construction helps distribute water over a larger filter area and accelerates flow, while minimizing the likelihood of slow extraction or unwanted taste. The desired result is a clear glass with a better balance of sweetness, acidity, and body.

The black version of the V60 NEO received two iF Design Awards 2026 and Red Dot Design Award 2026.

Suggested preparation method

1. Place a V60 paper filter, size 02, inside the funnel, then wash it with hot water.
2. Add the coffee with a medium to fine grind, and gently smooth the surface of the coffee grounds.
3. Hario initially recommends using 10 to 12 grams of coffee per 120 ml of water, adjusting the ratio according to your preference.
4. Start by pouring enough to fully moisten the coffee grounds, then wait for about 30 seconds.
5. Complete the pouring with a circular motion from the center, and avoid pouring water directly onto the paper.
6. Start with a total preparation time of around 3 minutes, then adjust the grind and pouring according to the result.
